Eric Svensen’s excellent choices of downtempo & ambient tracks

Our new episode in our Tangemeinschaft guest mix series comes from a passionate Cologne-based artist, Eric Svensen.

Eric Svensen’s love for music began in the 80’s. Organizing small underground parties at first, but quickly got attracted by electronic music. The love for this style was noticeable in his sets, that were more focused on a wider spectrum of music genres.

At the end of the 90’s he moved to the fantastic city on the west side of Germany, Cologne. It did not take him to long to land some gigs in smaller clubs. But something along his course made him take a creative break. But blood started pumping again and his love for music started sparkling again. So after this long break he got back on track and played some gigs at by Zimmermann’s (aka Sven in Space), Odonien (aka Sven in Space), Sven was a guest at the Cologne LocalRadiosender 674.fm and still is a very welcome guest at sonus.fm, Boombox by Markus Funke.

He, himself started to create a small but fine series of events called HouzeVerliebt.

Musically, he can’t be put in one box. His repertoire extends from ambient, trip hop, electronica, deep house, tech-house to techno. In his sets, many different genres are united as a symbiosis. Those who have already heard him play feel that he is trying to tell little stories through his DJ Sets.

Eric brings us a set with a long intro. But after this, he stuffs his story with some really nice delights. No pumping groovings, nu pounding techno, but really excellent choices of downtempo and ambient tracks. Sit back and enjoy this journey.
