Ron Flatter - Shelby

Ron Flatter- Shelby

A few years ago, 3 to be precise, I came across this great track from Ron Flatter. It’s called Mantequilla and it was on every time I jumped in the car. I drove an entire summer playing this wonderful melodic release. Ever since we at Tanzgemeinschaft became a fan of his melodic deep sounds he drops, release after release. It wasn’t always on the Cologne based Traum Schallplatten but still, his releases on other labels are just as fantastic: Sisyphos, Loretta on Einmusika, Stotch and many more.

Still we find his releases on Traum one of the more memorable ones. More melodic and with more emotion. Here is Mantequilla for your entertainment.

About a year ago Ron released “Dessert” on the Cologne based imprint. Very melancholic, deep, sensual … simply amazing. Hearing this just make you want to become a fan of this great artist. If you look at his soundcloud profile, he is a most wanted guest for guest mixes and remixes: Einmusika, Traum, Sweet Melodic, My Favorite Freaks, …

Pretty sure this will light up some floors in clubs.

Now he is back with a new release called “Shelby”. Sublime originals and 2 remixes of no other than Miss Melera and Da Pulse. The Titel track “Shelby” feels a bit tribalesque with hints back to “Mantequilla”. Too bad this wasn’t released in the beginning of summer in Europe. Would have been one hell of an anthem. Very euphoric and mood making track. Pretty sure this will light up some floors in clubs. “Delgado” starts as a real stomper with a heavy beat. The tracks decelerates with a softer bass line and moving melodies, turning it in to a more sweet melodic floor filler. “Lightdrops” feels different. The way it’s built with it’s slow ambient rhythm and lovely vocal cuts. I see sandy beaches.

Dutch Techno queen Miss Melera, know for here dark & deep techno releases on labels like Chapter 24, takes all credits for a menacing take on “Shelby”. A real club track for lovers of the darker side of deep house. We are a fan. Don’t miss her playing anywere near you if you get a chance.

Marc DePulse uses another approach for his take on “Shelby”. Still there is darkness, just like Miss Melera’s version but it’s a bit more searing.

It matters little whether you are an artist or a visitor, the love for music is the unifying factor.
