Barefoot festival. Free spirits and amazing vibe.

Barefoot

Last weekend we attended, no we discovered a new festival called Barefoot. In the middle of nature just outside Antwerp (Belgium) we arrived in a small and cozy setup filled with free spirits. Ambient sounds waving towards us, creating this magical experience in an environment filled with all things natural.

Theme this year was Mad Max style and this we could see. All beautiful people dressed up wonderfully, smiling, dancing, chatting, drinking and having fun. This was a vibe that might resemble something like Burning Man. This is also something the brains behind the festival, Charlotte De Cock, is trying to accomplish: artist freedom, nature, leave no trace policy. We’ve experienced it and it was magical.

Barefoot is not just another party; it is an experience- a truly magical moment in time.

Not only music was great. Something totally unexpected as we normally attend events with a line-up playing harder beats. The ambient vibes were fantastic and ended with a great set from the organizer Charlotte DC herself. But there was to experience that day: great food (burgers were simply delicious), performances, arts, make up artists and a cozy living room under the trees. The biggest eye-catcher was the art installation from Georges Cuvillier. A huge installation made out of bamboo poles surrounded the stage. After the sun had set, lights magically lit up the setup making sure the atmosphere was groovy.

See you next year Barefoot.
