Boatman drops a highly energetic The Big Collision

Boatman - The Big Collision

While we were browsing in the big pool of music of Soundcloud we came across this fantastic work from a young Belgian talent called Boatman. We do not know much about this youngster, except his real name is Sven van Troostenberghe and that he only got started in the electronic music scene, not that long ago. We can only encourage him to continue and produce more of this great music.

Boatman – The Big Collision EP: high energy!

‘The Big Collision EP’ is & 2 track bomb and got released only recently (06/06/2016) via Railroad Recordings. According to his Soundcloud profile Boatman gets his inspiration from great artists like Marek Hemmann, Nicolas Jaar, Ricardo Villalobos & Paul Kalkbrenner. When listening to both of the tracks this shows the correlation but with that extra to create his own sound.

The Title track ‘The Big Collision’ is a dancefloor monster. He creates just the right vibe using a great rhythmic beat and twinkeling keys. This track is a very nice techy groove containing stretched-out chords and a hyper kinetic cuts. Stretch your legs people!

‘Downfall’, the second track on the EP is deep melodic soul-enriching material. It’s softer than ‘The Big Collision’ and also more atmospheric. The tempo is slower, the mood is calm yet melancholic. It’s one for summer nights for sure!

As a first electronic music release it surely is one that counts. Great stuff this is!
