Elegie records the first-ever techno DJ set inside Alcatraz

French DJ and producer Elegie presents “Inner Escape from Alcatraz“, a new audiovisual project filmed inside the legendary Alcatraz prison in San Francisco Bay. Set against one of the most iconic landmarks in the United States, the performance combines electronic music with the powerful history and symbolism of the former penitentiary.

The artist has recorded what is described as the first-ever techno DJ set filmed inside Alcatraz. broadcast on 1001Tracklists, the performance uses the historic location as more than just a stage, touching on themes of freedom, resilience, and personal transformation through music and visuals.

The project is accompanied by the EP “Inner Escape from Alcatraz“, released on Dark City Music. Its three tracks draw inspiration from the island’s legacy: “Jailer” reflects on control and confinement, “Ghosts of The Rock” evokes the stories and memories embedded within the prison walls, while “Clint Westwood” pays tribute to the legendary escape narratives that helped shape Alcatraz‘s enduring mythology.

Blending melodic techno with cinematic atmospheres, Elegie creates a project that extends beyond a traditional music release, using one of America’s most symbolic locations to connect historical storytelling with contemporary electronic music.
