OPOLOPO & Mannix remix Kraak & Smaak’s ‘Corsica ’80’

Kraak & Smaak’s ‘Corsica ’80’ gets a fresh pair of great remixes for summer 2025, bringing two distinct takes from OPOLOPO and Mannix for Dafia Records. Swedish funk technician OPOLOPO flips the original into a cosmic disco groove that’s rich in squelchy synths, flickers of flute, elastic basslines and tight percussive programming, as always from OPOLOPO, its playful and very finely polished. Offering up a laid back Disco groover, Dafia Records boss Mannix keeps closer to the original’s woozy charm, layering in smooth Balearic textures, sweeping strings and classic piano stabs over a mellow discofied soundtrack that’s poolside-perfect.

Dutch trio Kraak & Smaak (Oscar de Jong, Wim Plug and Mark Kneppers) have built their name on a warm, genre-spanning sound, from deep house and funk to indie and soul. Since their 2005 debut ‘Boogie Angst’ on Jalapeno Records, they’ve released six albums, collaborated with the likes of Lee Fields, Izo FitzRoy and Ben Westbeech, and remixed icons including Royksopp, Moby and Aretha Franklin. With a new album due this autumn, they still on a roll!.

‘Corsica ’80’ (OPOLOPO and Mannix remixes) will be released on Traxsource promo July 18th / Full release on July 25th 2025 on Dafia Records.
