Premiere: Anton Kubikov – Ten Days Past Acid

Anton Kubikov

Anton Kubikov’s catchy and effortlessly-simple minimal jam

Burgeoning Russian label МАЯК (Mayak) has really hit its stride of late, with music by Archie Hamilton, DoubtingThomas and Christopher Ledger quickly giving them a foothold in the minimal techno world. For their latest release, the vinyl-only label turns their attention closer to home. Anton Kubikov takes the reigns for the quite exceptional Ten Days Past Acid EP. Featuring one original and a remix by fledgling Romanian talent, Dubtil, this release marks another high point in the label’s already colorful story.

МАЯК is a label that is exploring deep house and techno vibes. What strikes us the most about МАЯК are their values: “Remembering that not names, but high-quality music is key to a good experience for DJs and listeners.”

With Anton Kubikov they have on board one of the key figures of the Russian electronic music scene. His wide musical range extends from dub to techno. Anton takes the reigns for the quite exceptional Ten Days Past Acid EP.

A wonderful exercise in doing more with less.

The original is a catchy and effortlessly-simple minimal jam which draws the listener in with a firm dancefloor zest that will work wonders as the night begins to take an altogether different path. A wonderful exercise in doing more with less, it’s a brief acid flirtations and heavy baseline.
