We are glad to have him here over Tanzgemeinschaft. In order to get to know him a little better, we had a little Q&A with Dennis Rema. Check out the short chat below the mix.

Where are you from and what do you find inspirational about where you’re living?
I was born in Berlin and still here. When I play outside of Berlin then it is something completely different, this energy and the feeling exists only in Berlin. Berlin is Techno City number 1!

When did you start DJing/producing – and what or who were your early passions and influences?
I am an open-minded and lifelike person and discovered the Berlin techno scene since 4 years Ever since my first rave, I knew I wanted to stay and evolve in this scene. With my laptop and controller, I practised at home for hours and hours. My first love was minimal techno but after a while, I found it very monotonous. So I decided to stay at the same tempo just with more melodic parts in my tracks. Finally, I applied to the contest of the former Maria (Magdalena Club) “Junge Wilden” with success. Because of this, I got to play the last slot on the Main floor. A dream come true for me at that time. After winning the contest I could play as a resident in the club.

Via this job, I got to know a lot of people which gave me more opportunities to play in clubs like Suicide Circus, Golden Gate, Burg Schnabel, Johnny Knueppel, Wash House Potsdam, Humboldthain, About Blank.

About 2 years ago, I decided to start producing my own music, found my style of music very fast and knew which I wanted to produce. My first two tracks I sent to my favourite label, SCANDER, with a positive result. The answer I received from the label was something I didn’t expect: “We like your track very much, good work!” This was a true motivation and I got me working harder. In the meantime, I got to publish work on labels like Scander, New Port, Distorts Music and Rubik’s Recordings.
