TGMS Future Stars #92: Godinbols

Where are you from and what do you find inspirational about where you’re living? I live in Valencia, a city in the Spanish Mediterranean. I think that many things influence me from this land in my way of being and in my creativity. Valencia is a land of artists and musicians. The sun, the sea, its climate, its people, its joy. Here every winter end is celebrated a party in which we create thousands of immense monuments that we burn as an offering to the new spring. Burn the old to reborn the new. That philosophy is in my blood and allows me to continually renew myself in all aspects. Music is one of them. Where does your passion for electronic music come from? Well. I was lucky to experience the beginning of electronic music when was young. The starting of techno in the 80's was a marvellous explosion that captivated me. I have enjoyed other styles of music, but electronic music was something special. We went to underground clubs where you could hear everything that came from Europe (especially Germany) from that breaking and innovative techno. Over time, the access to new technologies opened the way for me to create that kind of music but always absorbing the new styles that have emerged in these last decades. How has your music been influenced by other artists, musicians, or life in general? Interesting question. All the music I have heard has influenced me and continues to do so. From the electronic music of Jean Michel Jarre or Vangelis, continuing with New Order, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Propaganda and many others, in those early days. But also, other styles have inspired me. Bands like Simple Minds, Bauhaus, The Cure, or even classical music, of course. Currently I really like progressive and techno but also house and all the sub-styles. I like to follow artists like Jeremy Olander, Cid Inc, Dmitry Molosh, Guy J, Khen, etc. On the other hand, life always inspires and transforms me. Continually What excites you the most as a producer? Everything. From the moment of searching for inspiration, through the creation of each sound, each track, to the final stage of cleaning in a music studio. Everything motivates me. Learning day by day is my leitmotif. Knowing that the next thing you do will be better than the previous one is very exciting. What can we expect from the mix you made us? I hope you like it, especially. I try to tell a story, make people dance and enjoy with this mix. In short, I expect to create a pleasure reaction in people. Progressive and techno sounds come together in a dance of live and sensations.

Growing up in the 80’s, Godinbols spent hours and hours listening to opera and classical music records from his parents. But before this and even being able to read, he was eager to play melodies with his toy piano and guitar. Going through the new wave phase and now, at a much later age, very much influenced by the melodic & progressive techno.

Stay tuned as this talent will be adding a track to our upcoming compilation in June 2020. Enjoy the mix.
