Across the release, Jimmy tips his hat to the heroes who shaped him while pushing his own Jazz in the House flavour right to the front. The title track, ‘The Get Down’, is a deep and jazzy groover built on sax flourishes, warm piano lines and a smoking rhythm made for dancers. ‘Til The Morning’ dives into pure underground territory, driven by a bumping, infectious deep groove and wrapped in sax hooks that rise and fall around the arrangement, hailing another standout release from Yousef’s Circus Recordings family.
