Belgian music festival Voodoo Village

Belgian magical festival Voodoo Village announces full line-up

We’ve got to experience this amazing festival near Brussels for the first time last year. It was an amazing event filled with glorious moments on each of their stages. The stage in the forest being the most amazing one, with shows from Satori, Bedouin, &Me and many many more.

Now, a good month before the start of Voodoo Village (10 & 11 September), the organisation announces the full line-up of the festival. Besides the previously announced artists, Kas:st, Dj Koze and Angelos will make their appearance at the s’ Gravenkasteel in Humbeek.

A total experience

A trend that has been evident for some years now within the festival world is that organisers are increasingly focusing on a total experience. The organisation of this magnificent festival surely knows how to handle this.

All is in favour of having a relaxing day, in this case, 2 days. Amazing artists playing at one of the 6 stages, while you can chill and relax against the idyllic backdrop of the s’Graven castle, have some cocktails sit down and relax at the little food market.

However, music is still an essential part of the festival and on the 6 stages – each with a unique look & feel, of course – both local talent and international top artists are featured. All are just a few steps away.

The magical stages

The Yard is the name of the Voodoo Village main stage which is located in the backyard of the castle. The place to be for fans of melodic house & techno. Great artists like KAS:ST, Mind Against and Belgian pride, Nico Morano will perform, in what was a huge pavilion last year.

The Forest is, in our personal opinion, the most magical place to be at the festival. Especially when the evening sets and you’ll be covered by the shadows of the trees. The stage is tucked away in the little forest, which only adds to the mysterious atmosphere of the whole festival.

The Forest has always been an expression of what Voodoo Village stands for: a magical experience where music and environment reinforce each other and even merge into each other.

On Saturday, The Forest will be hosted by Nowhere But Here. Sunday The Gardens Of Babylon will be back once again. Headliners that will enchant the forest on 10 and 11 September are Keinemusik, DJ Koze and KiNK.

Fans of exquisite techno music may want to take refuge in The Shelter, whose design is in the hands of the now internationally renowned scenographer René van Dijk. Pan-Pot, Fjaak, Len Faki, Sam Paganini and Anfisa Letyago, among others, have the honour of performing in this visual and technical work of art. Get ready for a nice stomping ground. Tucked away in a little cosy corner of the festival area (last year), this is huge fun.

A dash of disco, a little house-oriented, will be served at The Observatory. The live set of Mister G on Saturday will be an absolute highlight. The Observatory will be hosted by Disco Seck (a new idea from Bibi Seck, who will also be dancing) and Perplex London.

After Wout Bru (La Bru’sserie), Luc De Laet (Butchers) and Jules Koninckx (Maven) have provided a food experience on both festival days, the castle greenhouse will be transformed into a fifth stage under the name The Bulldog Glass House. Brooding beats are offered by the Brussels ON, with Nick Bril, Angelos, Attari and Lexx, among others.

Finally, the new stage The Mirror House by Jupiler proves that a dash of disco never hurt anyone. Constructed entirely from mirrors, this gigantic square disco ball will be in full swing all weekend long by local DJs. The stage is hosted by Studio Stranger on Saturday and by Ghent’s Disco Among Friends on Sunday.

It matters little whether you are an artist or a visitor, the love for music is the unifying factor.
