Female talent conquers the Sound Waves Festival in Portugal

Sound Waves in Esmoriz will feature on its Main Stage 9 women who represent the present and future of techno and hard techno at all levels

The next 5th of July will be a huge day for lovers of world electronic music, the Sound Waves Festival will celebrate its 20th anniversary and has prepared one epic line up . A selection of artists with the flower and cream of hard techno and some distinct touch that gives a fresh and renewing air that highlights female talent.

The mothers of the scene: We started talking about Rebekah and Fatima Hajji. Two queens of the hard techno scene that, after many years of work in clay, now contemplate the dance floors from a throne more deserved than ever, when they play they put on their hooves, mezclan and delight their audience with the energy of two girls who play with passion and without worry. Their style and their overwhelming personality mixed with a long career behind has taken the 2 DJs  to all the biggest stages of the scene and promises unmissable sets for everyone who attends the festival.

From Rebekah we can expect drops from another planet, kicks in various styles within hard music and with a touch of hardcore to top it off. On the part of Fatima Hajji we will see incredible games at the table, mixes of 3 channels and a selection of exquisite themes that will never leave anyone indifferent.

New and groundbreaking blood: From experience to youth. The scene has changed, and new talents have emerged, not only standing out for their music but also for their stage presence. This is the case of Cloudy, Novah and Jazzy. Three women who have recently made the leap to the big stage, but they don’t look like they’re slowing down. Cloudy is a complete artist, from four channels of schranz to a groove with bouncy touches typical of the 240KM/H label with whom she has a great relationship. Novah is the showman turned artist, and Jazzy is the visceral force that conquers with industrial hammer blows.

The talent closest to Portuguese soil: Having reviewed the solo artists, let’s move on to the B2B line up. First up,  Miss Sheila and Joanna Coelho, icon of the portuguese scene and a brazilian artist who is taking neo-rave to another level. Their B2B promises to be energetic and tireless; we’re eager to see how they interact, but what’s certain is that there will be strong emotions.

On the other hand, we have Ornella, the most in-form artist on the Portuguese scene, a tireless DJ and producer who focuses her sound on schranz and old-school hard techno and will be joining forces with LUCIID for another hard-to-miss set. Rounding out the Main Stage lineup is Carlota, the vocalist of AEREA, who will bring her sweet voice combined with melodic techno to deliver the most emotional set of the festival.
