1. “Reconcile” is part of the Be Vol.5 compilation by Be Your Own Studio — can you tell us how this track came to life and what it represents for you?

I’d been wanting to release a track on Be Your Own Studio for a while, and when my good friend and label boss, Nau Leone, asked if I would contribute something for the compilation, I knew I had to be part of it. At the time, I was already working on Reconcile. The production felt lighter and less melancholy than my usual sound, with hints of joy sprinkled throughout. During that period, I was also mending an important relationship in my life. I think subconsciously, Reconcile carried a sense of healing, almost like a positive transmission sent out into the universe.

2. Your sound blends euphoric melodies with driving techno energy. How do you find the balance between these two worlds in your creative process?

My first introduction to music was through the piano. As a kid I was obsessed with playing melodies that captured how I was feeling inside. I don’t think this method ever changed for me. As I fell in love with dance music and beat machine rhythms in college, my ear naturally gravitated towards melodic dance music. I’d say my main pursuit as a producer is understanding and playing with the balance between rhythm, melody and emotion.

3. You’ve released music on renowned labels like Siona Records, Black Hole Recordings, and Sony Music Germany. How has each of these experiences shaped you as an artist?

External milestones are important markers for any artist’s journey, and each of these labels has shaped mine in a unique way. Black Hole Recordings took a chance on me early on and launched my first major song, Statues, which later led to a placement on Armin van Buuren’s album in 2015. Sony Music Germany and Euphonic Records believed in me from the start, helping me release and tour my debut album Surreal. Siona Records has been home to one of my favorite collaborations to date, Stay with Das Pharaoh and Heerhorst.

4. From Los Angeles to Berlin, you’ve shared the stage with artists like Miss Monique and Cassian. What’s been the most memorable moment of your live journey so far?

My most memorable moment would have to be my first international show in Zurich with Ben Gold back in 2015. The promoter, and now close friend, Bodo, not only booked me but helped me through the entire process. I was incredibly nervous, but I learned so much about what it means to be a performer. A close runner-up would be playing my Surreal tour stop in Berlin. My dad’s side of the family lives in Germany, so they were able to come see me perform. That was truly a special moment, as I don’t get to see them very often.

5. Your tracks have received support from major names like Armin van Buuren and Joris Voorn. How does it feel to know your music resonates with artists of that caliber?

Knowing my music has resonated with artists I look up to is incredibly encouraging. I spend countless hours alone in the studio crafting sounds I love, so when one of the greats takes notice, it’s deeply validating.

6. Your vocals are often a distinctive part of your productions. How does incorporating your voice influence the emotion and direction of your tracks?

I look at my voice like any other instrument in the studio. Vocals are such a visceral and primal instrument. If we lost all of our technology, all we would have is our vocal chords. Across cultures, ancient traditions have been passed down through the voice, and for me, it’s one of the most powerful tools for conveying emotion and depth.

7. Looking ahead, what new sonic directions or collaborations are you excited to explore in your upcoming projects?

I’m always excited to further pursue emotion and melodies in my art. Using organic sounds and live-recorded samples will continue to be my most authentic form of expression. There are so many exciting tools for  producers right now. I suppose it’s all about how you use them while staying true to your artistic vision.

8. Let me know what you think of how the campaign is going.

Be Vol.5 has been a masterclass in thoughtful, targeted marketing. The support so far has been incredible, and I want to applaud all the artists on this project for contributing such inspiring music.

Thank you!
