Jimi Polo & Michael Gray Revive House Classic, ‘Better Days’

Toolroom gets set to unleash a major new release on the label as Chicago House pioneer Jimi Polo teams up with acclaimed producer Michael Gray for a modern take on the classic house anthem, ‘Better Days’. The collaboration brings renewed attention to a record long regarded as one of the defining moments in House music. Driven by Adamski’s unmistakable piano line and topped with Jimi’s evergreen soulful vocals uplifting and unmistakably anthemic, Michael Gray has delivered a respectful and lush production perfect for today’s party people. 

The project marks a significant moment for James Perri, also known worldwide as Jimi Polo, whose career spans decades across music, film and performance. A Grammy winning producer, international DJ and composer, James has continued to work with global names including Fatboy Slim, DJ Sasha and Blur, alongside many Croatian artists. His influence on the evolution of House music has been felt from Chicago to Europe, and his return to a landmark track underscores his ongoing impact on the genre. Michael Gray, best known for his global hit ‘The Weekend’, brings his own signature touch to the release. As one half of Full Intention and a respected solo producer, Gray has built a catalogue across labels such as Nervous, Z Records, Soulfuric, Glitterbox, Big Love and his own imprint Sultra.
