Where are you from and what do you find inspirational about where you’re living?

My name is Justus – born and raised in Berlin, Germany. Hometown of Techno, the glorious Sisyphos and the dark dungeons of Berghain.

Where does your passion for electronic music come from?

After an exciting and inspiring time on the high seas, I returned back home. 2017 my new start in Berlin began with amazing music and the wonderful variety of things that the capital city has to offer. My passion and boundless joy in DJing led to my first own project. At the beginning of 2018, my partner in crime – Chris Plettenberg – and I founded our collective called “Beschäftigungstherapie“, which means something like: “Coming together through music is our therapy”. We established a successful podcast series on Soundcloud as well as a party series. Next to numerous own events and bookings in Berlin, I have already played in various clubs such as the Rummels Bucht, Mensch Meier, ROSiS, Birgit&Bier or Polygon Club. Recently I had my first international Gigs in Guatemala City, Tallinn, Kampala & Butare. Further, I’m a part of “Staygold Music” an underground electronic music, talent and event agency based in Berlin, too.

What can we expect from the mix you made us?

I would describe my music as impulsive, profound and melodic – driving tech-, deep- and melodic house beats combined with vocals. With my sets I take everyone on a trip around the world, driven by the countless stories and experiences from my time as a sailor. This is why my artist title includes my first name: “justUS” – it describes my passion to express myself through music and create a powerful community. It is my music for everyone!
