Lecomte de Brégeot presents There Was A Day

French electro pop producer Lecomte de Brégeot is on our watchlist for a while now. Back in 2014 we had a chat with Yannick Lecomte talking about his early start and we kept following him as we truly believed he was going to deliver something very nice some day soon. And so he did. This fine young talent from from Lyon dropped a very nice EP called “There was a day” on Boxon records. All melancholia and uplifting beats packed in 2 originals and 3 remixes. On top he mad himself a stunning video clip.

On the original “There was a day” Mademoiselle B. sings with a great voice on this what feels a remake of an 80’s track. Strong French synth pop, a truly happy delight.

For the remixes he got himself quite a selection of really nice artists to reshape the original in sublime ways. Our fellow Belgian Attari created a wobbly version with a catchy disco beat. Really love this one as it creates a love boat feeling (for those who remember Love Boat). Sovnger & KorgBrain sharpen the edges with a more deep techno twist.

Last track and second original “Boxon twist” is totally Lecomte de Brégeot’s sound. He really manages to put his mark on it. This one is Daft Punk on steroids and surely a floor sweeper.

Are you ready for this great analog synth laden release? We are in love with it, ever since we’ve heard it.

It matters little whether you are an artist or a visitor, the love for music is the unifying factor.

We are a magazine & record label dedicated to quality underground electronic music. We do not look for just any music or anyone, we are looking for music, and people who create memorable experiences, that inspires and invokes emotion. Let’s create timeless music.
