Miss Melera drops Magenta EP. Compelling techno music.

Miss Melera drops Magenta. Compelling techno music.

After a deserved break and a splendid time off in Berlin we got ourselves a mailbox filled with upcoming releases. Berlin, always a great place to get lost in music, was one hell of a ride. Marcel Dettmann gets all credits during New Years eve. Actually it was already Jan 1 when we walked into Berghain. Loud pumping beats, rooms filled with happy (naked) dancing people, and ourselves. Memorable.

The night after we got into the House of Weekend party. Fantastic cozy club on the twelfth floor of the Haus Des Reisens building in Alexanderplatz. With a possibility to walk up to the rooftop terrace on the fifteenth floor. Nothing to see that night but fog (smog). Inside on level 12 we got entertained by a superb Pascale Voltaire and Lexer playing fine deep house music.

But we are here to talk about the first release we’d like to review in 2016. We are talking about the Dutch Miss Melera who signed a release on the melodic house and techno record label Chapter 24. We missed her gig during ADE last October but sure will catch up with her sooner or later.

With previous releases on Parquet recordings and Einmusika. On the latter she released another stunning EP called Faith.

Her soon to be released EP, called Magenta, will feature two fantastic originals and 2 remixes. One by the hand of Dave Seaman, who we know from his own Selador record label and the other is taken care of by no other than the young and rising star Jonas Saalbach.

Miss Melera created a fresh own style by combining traditional genres like deep & tech house with some old-school techno. It’s what you’ll hear on Magenta. Melodic, timeless & compelling techno music.

Magenta sure is a dynamic concoction of melodic deep house atmospheres, icy hi-hats and lush synths

Her first masterful cut here is the captivating title track Magenta. Magenta sure is a dynamic concoction of melodic deep house atmospheres, icy hi-hats and lush synths. Emanating more edgy synths and apocalyptic chords throughout, Dave Seaman edition is more ethereal techno than deep house. A total different approach but sure is no less than the original.

Mint, the second original, sounds more spellbinding yet is a delight for the ear. Dark atmospheric synths boasting a rich texture from the start and ensuring a spooky and groovy ride. Jonas Saalbac creates an overwhelming & infectious version of the original with the use of energetic synth stabs and haunting vocals.

Get your groove on with this upcoming release and make sure to grab your copy when it’s out.

Also don’t miss her monthly podcast series called Colourizon.
