Michael Gray Returns With New Album, ‘You & Me’

Following his highly acclaimed ‘Optimism’ album last year, UK producer / DJ Michael Gray is back with his third artist album, ‘You & Me’, landing on his own Sultra Records. This album pulls together a strong mix of familiar collaborators and new voices, moving through disco, boogie and soulful house with the kind of songwriting and musicianship he’s built his name on. Michael says he pushed himself further this time, calling the project a chance to get creative and surprise people. That comes through in the range of guests. Bran Mazz steps up across several tracks, including a chart topping fresh take on Maxwell’s ‘Ascension’. Mike Dunn brings Chicago grit to the album title track, while Tania Foster fires up the Latin‑disco burner ‘Shake’. Kelli Sae, Errol Reid and Jamiroquai’s Derrick McKenzie all add their own flavour, and ‘Gravity’ with Sian Lee is another gorgeous feel-good chart topper too. There’s more depth from Phebe Edwards, Dyanna Fearon and Audrey Martells, rounding out an album that feels like a full snapshot of where Michael is right now. Michael Gray is a DJ and music producer, and is also one half of ‘Full Intention’. His huge hits ‘The Weekend’ and ‘Borderline’ are still loved and played today. Michael’s plethora of magical soulful, disco and funky house releases have graced labels such as Glitterbox, Fool’s Paradise, Toolroom, Z Records, Defected, Big Love and more. He also runs his own label, Sultra Records (est. 2018), featuring hit songs such as ‘Fly Away’, ‘Invincible’, ‘In My World’, ‘You’re Gonna Make Me Love Somebody Else’ & ‘You Got To Remember’. Michael has released two solo albums to date, ‘Analog Is On’ (2007) and ‘Optimism’ (2024) to great acclaim.
