EM&LIO’s deep house journey

EM&LIO, beyond imagination

We are very pleased with this fantastic journey delivered by Spanish talent EM&LIO. Recently we had a very nice conversation about the music industry and way of working for him as an artist. EM&LIO (Emilio) is a bright mind with great ideas we must say. With a strong focus on the production process, he is one to look out for. He’s full of energy and has a lot of plans for the future. Mastering Ableton on and off stage is one of them. Again, keep an eye on this great talent.

He made us a stunning guest mix. It’s an emotional deep house journey with a sublime track list. A good taste in music we like so much. So, press play and enjoy the ride.

What can we expect from the mix you made?
This set is a trip through different styles, putting my main focus in deep house. Every track has a great emotional component, so I hope the audience can feel all those vibes and, of course, dance and enjoy, which is the essence of electronic music.

Tell us where you are from and how you got rolled into electronic music.
I’m from Valladolid, but I now live in A Coruña (Galicia). Since I was a kid I started playing percussion instruments, until around 2010 I started taking music production and djing more seriously. Then, two years ago, I decided to pursue my professional career in the field of electronic music, my true passion.

You are real fan of Ableton, tell us what makes it so special for you and how you use it to create and/or play music.
To me, Ableton is fundamental, both in music production and my live performances. The workflow is unbelievable and allows you to explore your creativity without limits. I recently attended the Ableton Loop event in Berlin and being able to share three days with artists and audiovisual producers from all over the world was a really enlightening experience.

Ever plan to do a live show using Ableton?
Sure, at the moment I’m prepping my new live performance with Ableton and the possibilities are endless, the only limit is your imagination.

You are in Antwerp (Belgium) for a long visit. What do you think of this city or even this country?
My first impression in Antwerp was amazing, people are really friendly. There is a great art awareness, with a long tradition regarding electronic music and a number of clubs specialized in different genres.
Antwerp would be a great choice to grow in the music industry at a professional level.

What is it you most like and dislike in the electronic music scene?
The electronic music scene is nowadays really diverse, there are constantly new upcoming talents, with more and more interesting styles that enrich this industry. On the other hand, such scene is quite closed, although you can feel how this market is opening little by little, resulting in better quality productions and sets, with fresh air.
