SunIce Festival

St Moritz’ SunIce Festival was an epic alpine rave festival

As the summer festival season looms, Switzerland’s SunIce Festival offered one final blast of winter magic last month as it transformed the luxury ski resort of St. Moritz into a snow-dusted hub of music, culture and alpine adventure.

Now in its third year, SunIce has firmly established itself with a heady blend of electronic music, winter sports, and mountain-top production, all set against the dramatic backdrop of the Engadin Valley. Across its four-day run, it welcomed 20,000 ravers who all made the ascent to 1,800 meters above sea level

The music arenas at SunIce are all located on top of the mountain, which sets it apart from other ‘ski’ festivals and creates a truly alpine setting. The Sunrise Main Stage served up peak-time sets from the likes of Lilly Palmer, CamelPhat and Alex Wann, while the Techno Dome — a transparent, futuristic structure perched high in the mountains — brought the vibes with performances from Shimza, Marten Lou, Agents of Time and Mason Collective. Meanwhile, artists like Levi, Fideles, and Argy provided atmospheric sunset sets, framed by fire cannons and snow-covered peaks, that will last long in the memory.

While the music is front and centre, SunIce is designed as a full experience where the fun never stops. You can ski or snowboard by day at nearby resort Corvatsch (St. Moritz had closed a week early this year), relax in five-star spas, sample gourmet food from local vendors or explore St. Moritz’s upscale boutiques. From snowmobile rides to après-ski lounges, every part of the experience is curated to deliver a premium but accessible alpine escape.

True to its name, SunIce doesn’t stop when the snow melts. The Summer Edition of the festival will return from 18–20 September 2025 at Lido Ascona, bringing the brand’s signature production and genre-spanning music to the shores of Lake Maggiore.
