TGMS Future Stars #89: HourGlass

HourGlass aka Mohamed Tarek was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. Touching melodies with low beats and lots of souls is how he describes himself as a DJ. Never afraid to go too deep, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy. HourGlass has started his journey from Zehn Records by releasing his first track after which he made some unreleased remixes which were supported by a lot. His first performance was at Solace ( Dubai ).

Where are you from and what do you find inspirational about where you’re living?
Coming from Cairo, Egypt. I see that my country is very inspired cause Egypt has its own culture from thousands of years and also we have our unique civilization which makes us think outside the box.

What excites you the most as a DJ/producer?
I am looking forward to having many events, Because Djing is making you so close from the audiences so you can see their passion on the stage, the crowd is your performance measurement tool but I once I am in the studio it feels different because producing music makes me express my feelings with music.

Where does your passion for electronic music come from?
I used to play piano since I was young then I started watching Deadmau5 which makes me crazy from his music and how did he make that, so I was so curious to know how to make that then I start the journey with some deep house tracks then I go to Melodic House & Techno.

How has your music been influenced by other artists, musicians, or life in general?
Stephan Bodzin is the one who makes me love these genre from his live shows or in his videos in the studio , he has a unique taste in his tracks so I was very influenced with that legend.

What can we expect from the mix you made us?
Expect a journey of melodic house & techno tracks with some unreleased tracks one of them is mine and also it includes some famous tracks but with new remixes, hope u enjoy it
