South Africa’s Sio lands on Soul Quest Records With ‘Losing Sleep’ EP

Sio has long been recognised as one of South Africa’s most compelling storytellers. A poet, DJ and singer songwriter, she moves easily between poetry, spoken word and song, using her delicate yet powerful voice to explore the full spectrum of human experience. Her catalogue spans Tru Thoughts, Metalheadz, The Remedy Project, Defected, Stay True Sounds and many more, earning her deep respect across soulful, electronic and alternative scenes. Her recent album, ‘Sarang / 사랑,’ reflects her spiritual curiosity, exploring intention and the law of attraction as she enters a new phase of creative expression.

Soul Quest Records now welcomes her into the fold with ‘Losing Sleep,’ a three track EP produced by London talents Sean Green, Max Sinàl, KingCrowney and Slxm Sol. The release captures Sio at her most open, blending dance floor warmth with her unmistakable emotional clarity.

‘Serious’ leads the EP with a deep, glowing groove. Sio’s candy sweet voice and vulnerable storytelling glide across lush keys and subtle afrocentric rhythms. ‘Somewhere’ shifts into a jazzy NeoSoul space, carried by her mesmerising tone and a hopeful message that feels both intimate and expansive. ‘Hello’ closes the project with a laid back contemporary soul feel, its catchy chorus and reflective lyrics circling around the pull of a questionable love interest.
