Selim Sivade taps Barbara Nicole for new Exit Strategy EP

French producer Selim Sivade and NYC vocalist Barbara Nicole are two of underground electronic music’s most intriguing emerging voices at the moment, and their new “Savage” EP, out now via Exit Strategy, makes a strong case for why. Sivade has quietly built one of the more compelling catalogs in deep house, with releases on Cocoon, Watergate, Get Physical, and The Moment Audio to his name, not to mention a decade of underground credibility earned under aliases including Villanova and Fetnat, and performances at Space Ibiza, Sónar, and The BPM Festival.

Barbara Nicole brings an equally distinct background: classical choir training with the Grammy-winning Handel and Haydn Society, studies under LP Giobbi, a FEMMY award at MMW26, and her own Good Crazy imprint. On paper, an unlikely pairing, but in practice, something incredibly special.

The two-tracker picks up from their Beton Brut debut “Just Skin,” which earned early support from Âme and James Zabiela, and immediately signals a bolder, more expansive register. “Savage” is Tresor-born and feels like it: dense, hypnotic, and built for a room that’s fully committed. The kind of track that tightens its grip the longer it runs.

“Disco Futuro” opens things up, arriving from a Paris studio session following a live show the pair played together, and carrying a warmth that offsets its counterpart perfectly. Barbara Nicole’s vocals thread through both with a precision and emotional depth that only classical training produces, present enough to anchor each track, restrained enough to let Sivade’s production breathe.
