Simpatiek looks back at 2018 with 10 favourite tracks

Last year was a crazy ride for us. Published quite some mixes, interviews ans premieres. But 2018 was also the year we started our own record label with a sublime release from German duo Simpatiek. So they are part of that crazy ride and cannot thank them enough. They have a great taste in music and it shows if you look at their top 10 selection.

Keep track of their Spotify playlist for more of their amazing favourits.

Enjoy.

1. Rampa, Adam Port, &Me – Muyé (Black Coffee Remix)
The original was released in November and we love it. Then Cercle released Black Coffee’s amazing set and he played his own version, with samples from the other CDJ. So Keinemusik asked him to do a remix. We can’t decide which version we like more, but the track is definitely our best track 2018.

TGMS: No need to choose. They sound both amazing!

2. Mathame, Lyke – Nothing Around Us
Tale of Us played this track the whole year last year – justifiably. The melody with the dark baseline sounds so amazing. Definity our top 2.

3. Collé, Oluhle – Owami
We heard this song the first time was a set played by trikk in one of our local clubs – speechless. Melody, vocals and percussions. It’s the sound we like the most.

4. Andhim, Högni – Stay Close to Me
The voice of Högni is amazing and the melody of Andhim fits very well. The track was released early in 2018 but we still love to play it.

5. Honey Dijon, Tim K, John Mendelsohn – Thunda (Rampa Remix)
Yes, Claudio, you know us. We have said it before. We are definitely Keinemusik fanboys. We could list every track from them in this list. But this remix from Rampa is the best for us. The vocals fit very nice to the typical “Rampa-Sound”.

6. Simpatiek – Imani
Our first released track on your record label. It’s the kind of music we like the most, melodic, percussive a bit of afro-house. Available on Beatport »

7. Shazse – Eclectic
We played this track very often last year. A very catchy baseline with a nice melody. This is a very nice dancefloor filler.

8. Emmanuel Jal – Kuar (FNX Omar Remix)
Afro-house at it’s best. Very nice percussions combined with catchy vocals. You we like it!!

9. Krystal Klear – Neutron Dance
Funky disco galore! A lot of deejays played this year tracks from the 80’s and 90’s. This track from 2018 fits very well in this list.

10. Tone Depth – Phoenix
This track has a very nice build up, it’s melodic, it’s dark but also warm. We just love it.

It matters little whether you are an artist or a visitor, the love for music is the unifying factor.
