TGMS Future Stars #116: Natalia Zaneti

Like many artists, the Brazilian DJ and producer Natalia Zaneti found her life purpose in electronic music. The pianist and violinist, since her childhood, have always been connected to music, but Techno was the turning point.

After a brief hiatus in her artistic side to focus on other professional projects and travel to countries like China and Germany, she picked up where she left off and, it seems, her pace is faster now. In the last quarter of 2021 she made her debut as a producer at the Brazilian label Real Supernova, where she watched her work, the Dagur EP, reach high positions on Beatport.

Today, Natalia is considered to be one of the national artists with great potential for a promising future ahead. With high feelings and intense selections, her sets have caught attention wherever she plays, bringing a very coherent mix between Melodic Techno, Progressive House and Afro House. We spoke with her to know more about her story and her next steps.

Where are you from and what do you find inspirational about where you’re living?

Hi!! I’m from Brazil and I’m currently living in the countryside. In Brazil, we have a mixture of sounds related to our cultures, such as drums, melodies, and different chord instruments… All of these elements influence the type of sound I’m producing and playing. Besides that, being in the countryside, close to nature has helped me to be more creative than ever.

Where does your passion for electronic music come from?

My passion for electronic music came from movie soundtracks when I was a child. Then it evolved when I started to travel to Berlin for work, having the opportunity to know the best nightclubs for techno, a type of music that was not so commonly listened to in Brazil at that time.

How has your music been influenced by other artists, musicians, or life in general?

My music is deeply influenced by the opportunities I had and still have in my life and I’m very grateful for that. As I mentioned before, being in Berlin and living there has brought lots of new influences in terms of the type of music, the way I perform my set in nightclubs, new artists that are not globally known but very good and inspiring as well that helped to enrich my music research. Currently, we are very close to big artists and musicians because of social media, so it is impossible to not be influenced by the ones we most identify with. 🙂

What excites you the most as a DJ/producer?

What excites me the most is to bring happiness and a good time to people. Make people dance and feel that energy is indescribable. Besides, showing people a different type of music that they are used to listening to and making them start to like it is also something I enjoy.

How do you see your future within the electronic music scene?

My goal is to be a live DJ performer, but I know that I have a long way ahead to achieve it… Saying that what I envision for my future in the scene is to be able to produce more of my own songs to touch people’s feelings. 🙂

Any news to share regarding upcoming work?

Yes!! I have a new EP coming in the next few months with 2 songs. With the new influences I’ve been exposed to, this EP is more for the crowd than the first one and I hope you like it! Thank you.

Thank you.
