Tobias Zaldua releases his new album “LIPPER”

Tobias Zaldua releases “LIPPER“, a record that resists passive listening and feels built to be experienced as a complete piece rather than a collection of disconnected tracks. The nine-track album moves through shifting moods and textures, pulling from indie pop, dark electronics, spoken word, and flashes of melodic drum & bass without settling into one fixed identity for too long.

The opening track, “YELLOW JUMPER“, briefly suggests something warm and familiar before the album begins to unravel into stranger territory. Tracks like “DEFINED/EMPIRES FALL/CURTAINS” and “EVIL UNDER THE SUN” lean into uneasy atmospheres, broken rhythms, and cold synthetic textures, while “LUCKY I WAS” slows everything down into something more exposed and reflective. At the centre of the record sits the title track “LIPPER“, where Zaldua explores the idea of people living inside your thoughts long after they’ve left — personalities absorbing fragments of others until the line between influence and identity starts to disappear.

What makes “LIPPER” compelling is the way it handles its themes without overstating them. There’s a constant tension between childhood imagination and adult disillusionment, between human instinct and the expanding presence of technology. Nature appears in the background like a fading signal, almost drowned out by noise and overstimulation. Zaldua never forces these ideas into neat conclusions; instead, the album lets them drift through the music in fragments, memories, and emotional undercurrents.

With “LIPPER“, Tobias Zaldua delivers a record that feels restless, intimate, and deliberately unstable in the best way possible. It’s an album that reveals more in its quieter moments and rewards listeners willing to stay inside its atmosphere from beginning to end.

It matters little whether you are an artist or a visitor, the love for music is the unifying factor.
